25 Years Expanding Course Material Affordability

Conference Details

This year, we will be celebrating 25 years of the CSU Chancellor’s Office work to help make course materials more affordable and accessible for students. The conference will be in-person, hosted on the San Jose State University campus in the Martin Luther King Library. Please note attendance is required to receive grant funding for the 2023-24 academic year.  As a reminder, you may use AL$ grant funds to cover travel costs for your conference attendance. 

Dates:  Thursday and Friday, February 9th and 10th.

    Leslie Kennedy
    Leslie Kennedy Ed.D. is the Assistant Vice Chancellor of Academic Technology Services in Academic and Student Affairs at the California State University, Office of the Chancellor. Dr. Kennedy is responsible for the management, leadership, administration, and oversight of the Academic Technology Services with the goal of infusing information technology into the teaching and learning processes, research, scholarship, and creative activities. She directs the implementation of existing academic technology initiatives, administration of ATS budgets and personnel. In addition, she advises the Chancellor’s Office leadership with respect to academic technology services and initiatives including library services, online education, academic software support, learning management systems, accessible technology, affordable learning solutions and web design.

    Sandy Ehrhorn is the Auxiliary and Bookstore Liaison for Academic Technology Services Affordable Learning $olutions, California State University Office of the Chancellor. Sandy is a retired bookstore director having overseen bookstore and other commercial services on two CSU campuses and a community college campus during her career.

    michael moore
    Mike Moore, Ed.D. is a Research Scientist in the Education Department at the University of New Hampshire. Dr. Moore’s research is focused on understanding how course materials interventions like Inclusive and Equitable Access impact student outcomes. Before moving into academia, Mike spent 13 years in the campus bookstore industry. His prior work on the front lines of course materials provide him a unique perspective while conducting his research.

    Michaela Keating is the Open Educational Resources Librarian and an AL$ Coordinator at CSU Fullerton. She earned her Master of Library and Information Studies and a Master of Arts in History from the University of Rhode Island. In addition to her OER work, she is also a gender and media researcher.
